More about us

Our beliefs

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and therefore our beliefs are based wholly on the Bible. Our aim is to live by faith in Jesus Christ, according to the teaching of his followers from the first century AD. The name ‘Christadelphian’ means ’brothers and sisters in Christ’ in Greek.

We believe...
  • There is only one true God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
    Isaiah 45:5, 1 Corinthians 8:6,  1 Timothy 2:5, Psalm 146:5-6

  • Only the Bible has the true message from God and it is inspired entirely by Him.
    2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21

  • The Old Testament is as important as the New Testament and God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are at the heart of the Gospel.
    Galatians 3:8-9, 16 and 29, 2 Peter 1:4

  • Jesus Christ is God’s Son.
    Matthew 3:16-17, Luke 1:35

  • The Holy Spirit is God’s power.
    Acts 10:38, Luke 1:35

  • Man is mortal and dies because of sin. The dead are unconscious; there is no immortal soul.
    Romans 5:12, James 1:14-15, Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, Ezekiel 18:4

  • Jesus Christ was Son of God and Son of Man, sharing our human nature and tempted in the same way as we are - but without sinning. He died for us, acknowledging that the nature he bore was rightly related to death.
    Hebrews 2:14, 4:15, John 1:29, John 3:16

  • God raised Jesus from the dead and he is now immortal, sitting at God’s right hand in heaven, active on behalf of believers.
    Acts 2:24, Ephesians 1:20-21, 1 Corinthians 15:17

  • Jesus will return to the earth and there will be a resurrection and judgement of those who are responsible because they have come to know God’s word.
    1 Thessalonians 4:16, Acts 1:9-11, 2 Timothy 4:1

  • Through belief and baptism into Christ by full immersion and living a faithful and Godly life, an individual grasps the gift of eternal life and the hope of a place in God’s Kingdom when Jesus returns.

       Mark 16:15-16, Galatians 3:29, Romans 6:3-4
